If you are in a place where you are thinking about the nutritional values of the food you eat, you'll find that there is no better way to make sure that you are getting the best than to think about doing your own organic gardening. Although it might sound difficult, all that organic gardening means is to exclude the use of synthetic fertilizers, pesticides or growth aids in your gardening. You will find that in doing so, you will be reducing the amount of toxins that will get into your body as well ensuring that the vegetables that you grow retain their full complement of nutrients. Take a look at three great tips to get you started!
Tip 1. Deal With Pests- The Natural Way!
When you are looking into making sure that your vegetables are pesticide-free, you'll find that this does not mean that you have to deal with bugs in your organic garden! There are plenty of ways to get rid of pests that don't involve chemicals. For instance, if you find that you have slugs, just place small cups of beer throughout your garden. Beer draws slugs very quickly and every morning, you'll be able to dump out drowned slugs. Similarly, you will find that a very diluted mixture of soap and water, sponged very lightly on your plants will get rid of aphids. To get rid of the pervasive, invasive Japanese beetle, paint some cups yellow and fill them with sugar water and slices of rotting fruit, and you'll find these full of drowned beetles every day. Oh, tip 2 (start a compost pile - yikes!) coming.
